God, The Glory Is Yours!

God, The Glory Is Yours!

Though I’ve written some books and stayed persistent in creating content, I’m only willing to take some of the credit—but not all.

Why? Because the ideas didn’t come from me alone. They were gifted to me—by God Himself.

So publicly, I want to say this: All glory goes to God for the success of this platform. Because without Him, you wouldn’t even be reading these words.

God, thank You for trusting me with the gift.

  • Though I was close to fumbling…I’m so thankful for the second chance.
  • Thank you God for my divine timing.
  • Thank you God for the people You called to pour into me.
  • Thank you God for strengthening my writing “voice.”
  • Thank you God for the strength to continue— especially on the days I didn’t have it to give.

Yes, us creatives battle through it!

We work hard.

Posting. Creating. Promoting.

We sweat. We cry. (A lot, actually.). We press through imposter syndrome, and try our best to manage burnout. I’m always hearing all this, “I got it out the mud” and “self-made” mantras—and sure, that can be true to some degree…

But let me ask you this

Is it fair to take all the honor,  without giving credit to the One who made it all happen? Sounds pretty selfish, if you ask me. One of the scriptures that reminds me to always thank God is Deuteronomy 8:1–20.

Here are a few truths I receive every time I read it:

  • Don’t forget God when things start going well.
  • He’s the one who brought us through our wilderness.
  • He considered us.
  • He’s the one who removed us from our Egypt.

Is it still hard to recall now that you’re well off?

Allow me to remind you:

When you didn’t know how that bill—you know which one—was going to get paid, and somehow the money showed up… That was God.

When you didn’t have money for groceries, and it suddenly appeared, or someone dropped off a plate of food, or you found a cup of ramen in the cabinet – THAT was God.

No, it may not have been ideal—but it was  provision! And you had more than what some others could say. When you fully depended on God for all things, He made sure you were provided for.

So I just want to say this as a reminder of what your spirit already knows:

  • Don’t forget God when you get the blessings. Always remember to credit the One who gave them to you.
  • Never forget Him in your plentiful season, because He was already there in your drought.
  • Even in creativity—when God gifts you an idea that could add to your streams of income – that’s not a small thing.

Honor Him with the fruits of such, and thank Him. When you get the chance, I encourage you to take time to read Deuteronomy 8 in a few different translations— it’s a necessary heart-check that we all need.

God, the glory is Yours. Always has been. Always will be.

Amen.
