05 Jul Likes Versus Impact: Which Will You Choose?
It feels good to hear your notifications buzzing, huh?
- The likes.
- The story reactions.
- The “I love this!” replies.
- The “I see you, bro!” or “Go off, sis!”
I’m not going to lie to you.
Now let’s get into those DMs…
They’ve been popping since you posted that content—congratulations by the way! All I hear from you is: tap tap tap – the sound of your fingers flying across that keyboard, trying to keep up with the compliments and inquiries.
- You’re in your bag.
- You’re in your zone.
And truthfully? You deserve that moment!
- It feels so good to finally be seen.
- It feels amazing to be celebrated.
- It feels like such an accomplishment to know that your content hit – and is being shared nationwide!
But here’s the thing I want to ask you real quick:
As you continue to make your content, what is the point of it all? Is it just for fun? (If so, that’s okay!)
Are you satisfied by the likes? Or do you want to leave impact?
Because getting likes is easier than you think – especially when people are just scrolling, double-tapping, and moving on to the next profile. But how does intentional impact sound?
Impact has a goal in mind.
- It takes heart.
- It takes intention.
- It takes consistency.
- It’s not just about being seen—
- It’s about being remembered.
- It’s about building something that moves people, long after they’ve scrolled past your post.
You want to post content that captures their attention for more than five seconds— something that makes them: stop, think, and reflect.
And let me be clear—when I ask you these questions, I’m talking to myself, too. Because while I love the support, and while I appreciate every repost, I never want to get so caught up in the response that I forget the reason I started creating in the first place.
So yes—keep showing up. Keep creating in whatever capacity that you’re called to.
But just remember…
Likes are temporary. But impacting someone’s life can change a generation.
